Ardara Hill Walking Club

Cadamstown, Co. Offaly - the Slieve Bloom Mountains in the heart of Ireland

Ardara Hill Walking Club is based in the beautiful village of Cadamstown, near Kinnitty, at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountains. We draw our membership from all around the mountains, in the counties of Laois and Offaly, and indeed further afield as well.

The name of our club comes from the 2nd oldest bridge in Ireland - some believe it may even be the oldest. Ardara Bridge is 0.7km south of Cadamstown, crossing the Silver River. It was part of an old important east-west road and had fallen into a bad state of disrepair. It is a beautiful brige and has been purchased by Offaly Co. Co. who are in the process of restoring it.

While many of our walks are in the mountains we know and love so well, The club was established with the purpose of exploring further afield as well and we travel all over Ireland to explore other mountains and hills.

Our club is a friendly one that aims to have fun while undertaking challenging walks, and always welcomes new members. If you are interested in joining, please contact us. It's not expensive, you'll meet new friends and we feel certain that you will have an enjoyable time with us!
